Hiker's Gondola

Insiders know that this is the best time of the day. Early in the morning in Mayrhofen, while all the other people are still sleeping or having breakfast and the sunlight waits in anticipation behind the snow-capped 3000 meter peaks of the Zillertal, you are already on your way. In only a few minutes, the Ahornbahn takes you up comfortably to the summit station of Ahorn Mountain at 1965 meters above sea level. At the panoramic platform, the sunrise will take your breath away. Golden sun rays caress the sky and you enjoy a fantastic view over the central alpine region of the Zillertal, Mayrhofen, Hippach and Finkenberg and further beyond into the Tux Valley. As if painted by an artist's brush, the Ahorn Plateau lies amidst the amazing mountain scenery. Soft, luscious alpine meadows, couched between proud mountain peaks. A beautiful day is just beginning: wonderful walks through the high mountain nature park of the Zillertal Alps, 372 square kilometers of fascinating, unspoiled alpine nature. Leisurely walking trails or challenging alpine trails to the summits - everything up here is idyllic, right down to the romantic mountain inns, where you can just while away the hours, enjoying the hearty Zillertal cuisine.
