Summer holidays in Mayrhofen im Zillertal:
Lots of nature, lots of sports, lots of entertainment
Hikers love this place. Bikers love this place. Mountaineers are inspired by it. It's pure indulgence. The upper Zillertal around Mayrhofen has a veritable treasure trove of holiday ideas – inspiring hiking areas, picturesque alpine huts, welcoming traditional guesthouses, fantastic biking trails and so many different recreational activities including paragliding and rock climbing. And if your holidays are all about switching off and enjoying yourself, there are plenty of ways to while away the hours in sophisticated spa hotels and cozy, traditional inns serving typical Zillertal cuisine.

As you gradually saunter up the Zillertal to the magnificent mountaintop landscapes – past idyllic meadows, through dusky mountain forests – you emerge on an upper alpine region peppered with captivating escarpments and an array of alpine peaks. What better way to pamper body and mind than a brisk walk around Mayrhofen. With some 200 kilometers of hiking trails there is plenty of variety, plenty of impressive sights – naturally including original alpine huts, ideal for a hearty snack with genuine Zillertal bacon and mountain cheese. The 372 square kilometers large Zillertal nature reserve is also a hiker's paradise. Discover the natural beauty of an unspoiled mountain region accompanied by experienced guides – family walks along ancient smuggler routes or to picturesque huts and alpine inns such as the Berliner Hütte are just a selection of the many highlights. You don't have to be an experienced alpinist to discover this magnificent region. Enjoying a relaxing walk or taking to the peaks in a cable car are as much a part of the enjoyment here as day trips and longer tours such as the Adlerweg, the Berliner Höhenweg or the Via Alpina.
