Romantic restaurants such as the nostalgic "Wirtshaus zum Griena" spoil their guests with typical Zillertal specialities. You should definitely try Bauernbratl (traditional roast), Melchermuas (sweet porridge), Zillertaler Krapfen (donuts) or Buttermilchschmarrn (cut up and sugared buttermilk pancake) along with fresh Zillertal Beer. Another great option is a visit at the Erlebnis-Sennerei (a traditional dairy) where real alp and mountain cheese is made from aromatic mountain milk.
