Romantic restaurants such as the nostalgic restaurant “Wirtshaus zum Griena” spoil their guests with typical Zillertal specialities. You should definitely try Bauernbratl (traditional roast), a Melchermuas (sweet porridge), Zillertaler Krapfen (like donuts) or a Buttermilchschmarrn (cut up and sugared buttermilk pancake) along with a fresh Zillertal Beer. Very Zillertal-like is a visit to the Erlebnis-Sennerei (a traditional dairy) where real alp and mountain cheese is made from aromatic mountain milk.
